I can’t believe it – 100 episodes on my podcast! This is such an incredible milestone and I’m so grateful! I’m going to tell you all about what the podcast has taught me, how it’s stretched me, and what’s next. Let’s dive into my personal reflections over the last 2 years & 100 episodes!
What made you start the podcast in the first place?
The first thoughts of a podcast hit my mind in 2020. I had started my health coaching and had been in it for a year and realized I loved connecting with people and hearing their journeys. People then started asking me if I had ever thought about starting a podcast because they wanted to hear longer-form content from me. It stayed in the back of my head for a while – made me wonder, ‘should I’? Then in 2022, I was really diving into starting one and we had a big life change that put it on the back burner. Then 2023 came and I knew I had to make it happen!
What’s your favorite episode or one that people must listen to?
I have loved all the guests that have come onto my show, and those are some of my favorites because hearing people’s stories is so impactful and special. Another one of my favorites was the episode where I talked about walking 825 miles in 2024 and the 5 lessons I learned in doing that. I learned so much from that myself and have had so many people reach out and say they loved that one as well.
What’s your favorite and least favorite part of podcasting after 100 episodes?
My least favorite part is editing! It’s very time-consuming and not fun. I probably should have outsourced this by now. My favorite parts are outlining the episode and recording the episode. It is just so fun! Another thing I love is just hearing from people after podcast episodes about how they might have felt or were impacted by the episode.
How has the experience of podcasting changed you or benefited you?
I have struggled in the past (during college and even younger) with self-depricating and a narrative that I’m going nowhere or having nothing to do. With podcasting, I really feel like I’m working within my strengths. I’m a good communicator and encourager and that has related really well to podcasting because I can do that with my audience. I’m so thankful I didn’t allow negative thoughts back then to stop me from stepping into this huge gift in my life.
What does ‘Boldly Living Your Everyday’ mean to you today vs what you intended when you started podcasting?
The theme of ‘Boldly Living Your Everyday’ is the same today after 100 episodes and before I ever started. I believe that when we have confidence in ourselves, our strengths, and in taking care of ourselves, it helps us walk more boldly in our lives.
What do you say when people ask you ‘how long are you going to do this?’
When I get asked if I’m going to this forever, my answer is, I have no idea. Forever? No, probably not. My original goal was 1 year of podcasting. When I met that goal, my next goal was 100 episodes and here we are. I think what it comes down to is this. Is this fulfilling me? Is it bringing my joy? Right now, the answer is yes. So for now, we are going to keep rocking and rolling and continue the podcast!
