Real health and your career – can you have both? YOU CAN! I chatted with my friend and client Jenny about exactly this! She is a real estate agent in Nashville and leads a team there. If there’s a woman that knows ‘busy’, it’s her! I wanted to talk to her about how she makes her healthy lifestyle work with her busy schedule.
What encouraged Jenny to start her career path and what did her health look like then?
Real estate is in Jenny’s blood. It started back with her grandmother who owned her own brokerage and then her mother. As far as her health goes, she said that she was always thinking about doing better or starting a plan but it was never a priority for her. Like most moms, she was putting herself last.
How has the FASTer Way program impacted Jenny’s health journey?
Jenny said FASTer Way has really helped her with a plan that she can be consistent in. You have everything that you need in one plan and one place. She really likes the habit stacking principles because you don’t have to do it all and you don’t have to be perfect. Having that framework keeps her on track.
She also loves that she can do the workouts in her home with very little equipment and not have to worry about what to wear, her hair, or even if she wants to brush her teeth.
What is one example of small changes that led to significant results?
Drinking enough water each day… that’s where it started for Jenny. Once she started drinking enough water she was able to add the next thing and the next. Once she accomplished her water goal, she had self confidence that she could make the changes AND STICK TO THEM!
Another thing that helped Jenny was finding a time when she could be consistent with her workouts. For Jenny, this worked best before her kids got up for school or her phone started ringing with work calls, which meant 530am. Because she isn’t a morning person, this wasn’t and still isn’t an easy thing. But she’s dedicated to making the changes and does it consistently.
What are you most proud of when you look back on your health journey?
Jenny is most proud of her consistent work. She has not let life, others, or imperfections stop her. She still has a long way to go and will probably never wear a bikini ever again in life but she’s good with that. She’s proud that she made the improvements in her mindset and commitment that she has made to herself.
