Back to school can be so stressful. We all know that feeling of getting all the supplies, clothes, and class information together. Then as the first day near you become frustrated about what healthy foods to pack in your child’s lunches.
From one momma to another, I get this. Packing healthy lunches is one of the most stressful parts of back to school for me. I know the importance of eating healthy for their energy, mood, and overall success in school so that puts added pressure on me as a mom.
With school starting it can be so easy to throw a bunch of quick & easy grabs in their lunchbox… leading to too much sugar, not enough nutrients, and a stressed out momma!
It’s definitely fun for our children to include treats and fun lunch items – remember, the key to that is moderation.
Try these 3 tips for healthy eating:
- Plan in advance – knowing what you want and intend to feed your children in advance helps you to grab those healthier options
- Choose fresh fruit over pre packaged fruit cups – fruit cups are full of unnecessary added sugar and aren’t nearly as tasty as fresh fruit
- Swap juice boxes for fruit flavored water – juice boxes lack nutrients and aren’t near as healthy as flavored water
Back to school can be stressful so I hope these tips help you be less stressed about preparing healthy lunches for your children!
