HOW TO GET OVER CHALLENGES IN YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY AS A MOM

Moms face many unique challenges when it comes to taking control of their health and fitness. Whether you have an infant, a toddler, or a teenager – you have different challenges at different stages. 

No matter what stage of motherhood you are in and the challenges ahead, you can always get through it. It may not be easy (most of the time it isn’t).

Some of your struggles might include:

  • Time constraints
  • Lack of energy
  • Lack of support
  • Other obligations

Of course there are more, but these are the majority of what I hear and have experienced myself. So how can we, as moms, get through this?

If you’re struggling with:

  • Time constraints – it’s important to see where you’re spending your time. Yes, your time is limited but do you have an extra 30 minutes somewhere? If so, it’s a great time to get a workout in. Even better, take a walk as a family where you can get some exercise and spend time together. 
  • Lack of energy – moms are tired, rightfully so. If your current struggle is lack of energy, it’s important that you move your body & fuel it appropriately. I know it seems contradictory, however, moving your body and feeding it will help increase your energy.
  • Lack of support – there are tons of incredible support groups specifically for moms that are great for this. Seek out a coach or support group to help you. This makes all the difference when you don’t have support elsewhere.
  • Other obligations – you don’t have to give up family time, or miss other obligations or even get rid of things in order to take control of your health and fitness. I suggest looking at your obligations and when they are and see where you have time around them. Make it work for you and your schedule. 

The big thing here is to remember that your journey won’t be perfect but you are making an incredible choice to take control of your health for yourself and your family. 

Lastly, it’s important to give yourself grace.
