So many women are juggling so much right now. With school starting and new routines, fall can often feel like a restart, but also a pressure cooker. You’re just doing it all! This is your permission slip going into this season. You don’t need to earn rest. You don’t need to do it all. Here are 3 permissions you need to give yourself.
Permission 1: You don’t have to have it all figured out
Let go of the need for certainty or control. This is such a huge thing that makes this season feel like a pressure cooker. You’re allowed to be in process, in the messy middle. I know this can be an uncomfortable spot at first, but learn to get comfortable in this space, it’s where we spend the most time.
No matter what journey you are embarking on this fall, it’s okay to adjust and not have a perfect plan. I often switch up what I’m doing so that it benefits me. Yes, this is even true in your health journey. If you’ve been around long, you know I’ve adjusted and had great success.
I want to remind you that clarity often comes after taking the small steps, not before. Think about that a little… after, not before.
Permission #2: Honor your season
Just like the year has seasons, so does life. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually – our life has seasons. I bring this up because this often shifts routines and health goals. They might look different now than they did earlier this year and that’s okay.
For example, this summer my routine was way different. I took time away from my podcast and so that meant my morning routine involved the kids and then right into the day doing all the things with them. I had to make shifts for when I was going to work out, get my steps in, and still enjoy the summer. This has changed going into fall already.
Be honest about what’s sustainable right now. Maybe this season doesn’t mean you have to do it all but instead take 2 tiny habits to your day.
Permission #3: Choose yourself without guilt
Choosing your health, your mindset, and your peace is not selfish. Its strength. I know so many women who feel guilty for investing time, energy, or resources in themselves. In fact, this was me. For so many years, I thought that I couldn’t take that morning walk because I needed to make sure I spent every second with the kids before the day got started.
You are allowed to take up space in your own life. Health and confidence start with believing you’re worth showing up for. AND YOU ARE!
Whether you’re trying to get back into a routine, take care of your body, or simply breathe a little deeper this season, I hope this helped you. I want you to move forward with peace, not pressure.
