Have you fallen into the trap of perfectionism?
You’ve probably thought to yourself, “If I can’t do it perfectly, why would I even try?” or maybe something like “It’s not worth my money unless it’s perfect”.
Without even realizing, we as women especially, have fallen into this life of perfectionism. In society we seem to see so many places where there is the perfect family, with the perfect life, and the perfect job. And social media just elevates that! You scroll long enough on Instagram and before you even know it you are feeling down on yourself for not having the same perfect life you see other’s have.
That’s where it gets kind of cloudy because we only show our best selves on social media. We show what looks good, perfect.
Why do we put this pressure on ourselves? I’ve asked myself this question MANY times because it’s happened to me many times where I find myself wanting perfection.
What I noticed is it comes down to the things I’m consuming. The people I follow on social media, the TV shows I’m watching currently, and the people I’m surrounding myself with. It always goes hand in hand.
How can we avoid falling into this perfectionism mindset while still enjoying social media, tv shows, and the people I want to hang out with?
Think about what’s important to you and then SIMPLIFY!
Perfectionism isn’t sustainable and it’s a whole lot of unneeded pressure.
