Morning routines are all the buzz right now. The way you start your morning sets the tone for your entire day. But let me be clear, the best morning routine is one you enjoy, is attainable, and can be consistent. Lots of people struggle when it comes to mornings. I want to give you actionable tips to shape your mindset and day positively.
Tip #1: Define your intention
Setting your intention for the morning is key to starting positively. Think about how you want your day to feel. Do you want to have a calm day? Feel more energized? Need to focus? Your intention guides your day.
Write down one word or phrase as your morning intention before bed. Doing this will help you set your morning up for success.
Tip #2: Start small and consistent
You don’t have to change everything at once. Small, manageable steps build consistency and momentum. If exercise is your goal, start with a 5-minute stretch instead of an hour-long run. Doing these small steps will create confidence that you can do this!
Choose one routine element you’ll commit to daily for 7 days. Once you’ve done that, maybe add another step to the routine. As you commit and accomplish the small steps, continue to add more until you have YOUR routine that is setting your morning up for success.
Tip #3: Incorporate joy
Your morning should include something you love in your routine. Maybe for you, that is a good book, or journaling, or your favorite tea. Whatever that is, you should have something you love. A successful morning routine isn’t one that causes stress or frustration.
Identify one thing that brings you joy and add that to your routine. Think of this as a non-negotiable part of your morning routine.
We all want to start our day feeling refreshed, focused, and ready to take on the world. Creating a positive morning routine can help you accomplish this!
