Doubt has killed more dreams than anything in the world. It can keep you from pursuing the things you love, make you question every single parenting decision you’ve ever had, and can keep you stuck with no plan of moving forward. How do we silence this doubt so we can walk in confidence?
Doubt is hard to deal with because it’s such a strong feeling. It affects all areas of our life. Because of this, we find ourselves in situations where we lack confidence and get down on ourselves.
Let’s change that!
The first step in silencing doubt is acknowledging that it’s there. Without realizing it’s there, you can’t fix it! You may be confused about how to know if you are dealing with doubt. Here are some things to look out for:
- Negative self-talk
- Fear of failure
- Comparison
- Constant worry about people’s onions
If you’re dealing with any of these things, it’s ok! When doealing with this doubt it’s important that you show yourself grace and compassion.
Once you can acknowledge that doubt is present, you can move into practical ways to silence that doubt.
Silence doubt by
- Challenging doubt with TRUTH and reframe the thought
- Having voice in your life that are uplifting and encouraging
Now that you’ve acknowledged the doubt and have incorporated practical ways to silence the doubt, IT’S TIME to build your confidence!
Start by reflecting back on a situation that made you feel doubt. Then, think about the ways you were able to move through it. What did you do? Afterwards, remind yourself that you got through it and moved forward.
Another great thing you can do is to view your failures (or things that didn’t go the way you thought), as learning opportunities.
You get to decide how you view the situations and feelings in your life and if you use them. These small mindset shifts can do SO MUCH for you!
