Summer is wrapping up! I hope you all have had an incredible one! Today I’m giving you a little behind-the-scenes of our summer, what I loved about stepping away from work, and what’s coming this fall!
Here’s some family highlights from our summer
Our son, Rhett, played all-star baseball this summer. It’s so incredible to watch your child do something they love and my husband and I are just so proud of all his hard work. It was definitely busy but so memorable watching all he accomplished.
For our sweet daughter, Zoe, she did summer swim. She had an incredible time and loved every day she spent swimming. As her parents, Nathan and I, have a blast watching her do something she is so passionate about. I was surprised by how fun the early mornings were during the summer.
Nathan and I were able to take an incredible trip with his entire family to the beach. This was such a special moment for our family this summer. Being able to soak up love, connection, and family is something I’m super grateful for. These were some of the best memories we made all summer.
One special thing we are so lucky to do each summer is “grandcation” week. This is where the kids go with their grandparents for the entire week and Nathan and I are able to soak up some 1:1 time. This year we spent it at home. It was so quiet but still so much fun.
Here’s why I stepped away from work this summer (and why you might consider it in the future)
If you’ve been around a while, you probably noticed how hands off I was this summer. That was intentional. And I want to speak directly to the women out there who feel like they have to always show up or everything will fall apart. Whether that’s in life or business – I know many of you feel like this.
Taking a step back this summer was SUCH a breath of fresh air! So necessary, so needed, and so impactful. Yes, business dipped. Yes, I wondered if I was doing the right thing. But quickly, I realized that this is exactly what I needed.
I’ve fallen into the lie that “you can’t take a break” before and honestly it was exhausting. I’m learning (and this summer definitely helped) that rest is holy and so necessary. I wanted to model what I encourage my clients to do: live fully present and honor your season. That’s what I did and I definitely recommend it to you.
What do I have in store for you this fall?
I will show up here every week with practical wellness & health tips, mindset chats, lots of encouragement through the holidays, RV trip deep dives (coming soon!), and real-life, honest conversations to help you prioritize yourself again.
