3 Tips for Staying Consistent

Consistency leads to results in the health and fitness world. That’s the truth of it. Staying consistent beats all the odds.

The journey to health and fitness MUST involve consistency. I can promise you that when you start out consistency won’t be the first thing on your mind. You’ll be tempted to skip a workout or choose a meal that doesn’t fuel your body and that’s ok! We will all have those times. What’s important is that we don’t let those times lead to a pattern of doing that repeatedly. 


For most, your journey starts with motivation. It looks like this – you see a picture of yourself you don’t like and you’re motivated to make a change. You go to the doctor because you aren’t feeling like yourself only to find out there’s nothing “wrong”. You finally want to take control of your health and fitness and you’re motivated to get the show on the road.


The reality is, motivation only lasts for so long… when motivation withers away (and it will!), what is going to keep you going? CONSISTENCY!

Consistency doesn’t come easy. It takes work. It leads to results and new habits and that’s why it works in creating results. But for most, we don’t know how we can keep ourselves consistent ESPECIALLY when motivation ceases.

Check out these 3 tips for staying consistent:

  1. Find something sustainable – remember, if it requires you to cut out a whole food group or eliminate carbs it isn’t sustainable and definitely won’t work for you long term therefore you won’t be able to be consistent.
  2. Seek extra accountability – someone to guide you in working towards your goals – I HIGHLY recommend a coach that has a group. This will allow you to work with other individuals just like you with similar goals. You’ll feel support and accountability.
  3. Be realistic with clear goals – a big goal with smaller goals leading up to it is the best way to do this. If your goal is unclear or seems out of reach you are less likely to be consistent.

I can promise you that consistency will change your life. It will elevate your wellbeing and absolutely help you reach your goals.
