Mindset is a hot topic these days. Rightfully so! It’s been studied and shown that those with a positive mindset are benefiting in their physical health and wellbeing. You are able to deal with things like stress and overwhelm a lot easier with a positive mindset.
Moms, here’s likely the most important part… Having a positive mindset yourself, helps to encourage that within your children. Why is this important? Children that have a positive mindset are more able to resolve conflict, they are more self secure, and they exude confidence. What things can you do to instill this in your children?
Here are 3 tips you can implement:
- Teach and engage in positive self talk and affirmations – this will help build their self esteem & confidence leading to that positive mindset. I enjoy doing affirmations with my children daily. I say it, they repeat after me and then as they get older, we just recite them. Things like “I am important” and “I am loved” go a long way.
- Prioritize your child’s strengths – bringing light to the things your child does really well helps them to feel secure but also allows their mindset to be fed so many good things.
- Surround your child with positive people – this is huge because we are who we surround ourselves with. I would even go as far as the tv shows your child watches. Make sure they are positive to create and maintain that positive mindset.
As important as this is for adults, it’s equally (if not more) important for your children.
If these small changes (or additions) could make a big impact on the rest of your child’s life, it’s worth it! Mindset work can seem daunting but with these 3 tips you & your child will be well on the way to a positive mindset!
