If your first thought when looking for ways to take care of your health and fitness is “I’m scared I won’t be successful” then you’re in the right spot. I’ve been there and I don’t want or wish that for you.
I’m going to tell you how to get out of that toxic mindset and into one where you can truly flourish and pursue your health and fitness goals.
Here’s the thing, you’ve been telling yourself for far too long that you can’t be successful… What if instead of focusing on “not being successful” you ask yourself “what if I am successful?” POWERFUL!
Our mind is the biggest hurdle we face when it comes to our health. We tell ourselves over and over these terribly untrue things… so much so that we actually start to believe them. Therefore leading to a toxic mindset about our health. If you stay there, you’re right, you won’t be successful. But not because you aren’t actually capable. It’s because you won’t allow yourself to (or your mind won’t!).
Breaking through that mindset may be the toughest part of your journey. If I had to do it all over again this is what I would do to get out of that mindset and in one where I can pursue my goals and be successful.
- Practice positive talk to and about myself – the more good things you hear and say about yourself, the more positive you will feel.
- Find support/a community of those who know where I’m coming from – it’s SO much harder to do this alone so find a place where you feel heard, seen, and understood.
- Have a plan that allows me comfort and confidence in the steps to reach my goal – you need direction. This will help your mind not have as many opportunities to doubt what you’re doing because you have guidance.
- GIVE MYSELF GRACE – progress over perfection!
Success looks different for all of us but one thing is the exact same – you have to believe that you can! Thinking of all the negative outcomes only leaves you where you are now. Instead, start thinking of all the positive ones!
