It’s so easy to fall into the lull of fitness and many wonder if they are making progress in their journey. I firmly believe that your mind is playing tricks on you when you’re wondering this, I wanted to share four ways to KNOW you’re making progress in your health journey.
First, you aren’t letting the scale measure your success. I know it can be extremely hard to be on your health journey and watching the scale. You don’t want to fall into this trap. There are so many other NON SCALE successes you could be missing.
Second, you’re not comparing your journey to someone else’s. Everyone starts at different times in their health journeys, they are at different stages, and have different goals. Don’t get caught in the comparison game. That’s one quick way to slow your success!
Third, you are focusing on consistency rather than perfection. Making progress in your journey takes practice, which means consistency! You’re not going to eat a perfect breakfast, or do a perfect workout, but as long as you are focusing on consistently showing up for yourself you are already ahead of most.
Last but not least, celebrate the small wins you are seeing. Every change in your body, mood, and health should be celebrated. Don’t wait to celebrate until you’ve reached your goal. Celebrate the small wins and you’ll be motivated to keep going!
It should be noted, it’s okay if you aren’t where you want to be regarding your health. Take a minute today and think about how far you’ve come. What changes have you committed to make? Remember, health isn’t a destination, it’s a daily intentionality! That’s what makes it beautiful.
First and foremost, each day is a growth opportunity. Keep taking steps forward and don’t compare your journey to anyone else. Fitness journeys aren’t linear for everyone. Your journey is your journey.
Keep at it! You’ve got this friend!
