If you’re trying to lose weight in your 30’s, quit making these mistakes.
Losing weight in your 30’s isn’t as it was in your 20’s. I’ve been there and live this.
Here are the 4 mistakes you’re probably making in your weight loss journey
- You’re not eating enough to fuel your body.
Most people fall into this trap thinking they need to eat less to lose weight. And while that’s partially true, your body needs nutrition to support your exercise. It’s the foundation of weight loss.
- You’re focusing too hard on cardio.
You’ve been lied to. Cardio = weight loss, right? WRONG! Too much cardio puts extra stress on your body which hinders weight loss. What you need to be doing instead is lifting weight. Don’t be afraid you’re going to get bulky lifting weights. Throw that negative thought away.
- You aren’t eating enough protein.
Do you know the importance protein has on your body, especially as you age? Do you know how much protein your body needs to lose weight? Protein has so many benefits. It keeps you fuller longer, helps your metabolism regulate, and is a fuel source for your muscles. If you’re not eating enough protein, you’re not going to lose weight.
- Comparing your journey with others.
I know this can be particularly tricky if you have a friend or family member also striving to lose weight but I want you to remember your health journey is YOUR health journey. It’s going to have its ups and downs. There will be hard seasons. BUT, you can do this!
My health journey has been far from perfect. It’s changed a lot since my twenties. Since starting FASTer Way, I’ve had 2 big moves, worked through an adoption, experienced loss, and so many other hardships. But what I can say is that the FASTer Way and my health journey has always been something I can come back to that’s sustainable and meet me where I am.
Friend, your health journey should be something you are able to stay with or get to even through those hard days or seasons because they will happen.
